I sit among all my primitives and chuckle to myself. These are the real 100+ year old antiques. You’d have to knock me out to get my wooden dough bowl from me. My crocks and graniteware tell stories of amazing home cooking and community. You can keep your swung vases and genie bottles MCM fans. A Blenko water pitcher never helped anyone survive a harsh and brutal winter. Call me an old fool. I like the ring that has to it. LOL.

That "votive holder" would be a nice cupcake holder!

Great finds as always; wish I could go thrifting with you! That hammer is called a ball peen hammer! I think that ironstone ladle belongs in YOUR collection! I think the barn would also be cute with a modern Nativity set in it at Christmas!

I believe the hammer is called a ball peen. I have the same one that belonged to my father and still use it.

If you were goiing to sell the checkerboard, would you add hanging hardware first?

I have a round glass base that’s pretty small. I want to use it for Halloween flowers and I wanted to stencil some spiderwebs on it. Do you think this method would work for that too small glass?

Since the Currier & Ives print was a view of New York from Brooklyn Heights, the boats would be on the East River, not the Hudson. All of the framed works on paper with glass but without any matting, should have a spacer or a mat added to provide some separation between the art and the glass to protect the print from damage over time.

I think you can keep all the pieces and rotate them through your home until you find ones you like even more. It really is a reasonably priced way to decorate! I love the idea of accents of red and the fall golf course. And you can keep the Shaker tree of life til at least November!

Yay! A good Monday! Another video! I’m glad to see you pick up a framed greeting card. I frame vintage cards, mostly Christmas, and sell them as little pieces of art. Your pickup encourages me that they have appeal. You have such a good eye. Not everyone would have noticed the fabulous graphic effect of the checkerboard. And on that last piece, I would be tempted to try to turn that gold flag into a small sapling. 🤔

The poinsettia design on the trim looked like an edelweiss flower. Some of the trims looked Swiss. Just beautiful!

Those white ceramic knobs would be great for BBTs too! I add gravel or Spanish moss to the screw end and add a dollhouse-sized plant! Another bunch of great finds! I can just picture a vignette with all the school oriented supplies in your booth!

I love the hobnail style. I have milk glass from my mother in law. It's got a leaf pattern on it. I have a large serving bowl with 6 individual serve bowls of the same pattern. Who made it and what year? I will never part with them because I use it for the holidays. Thank you for sharing your treasures with us and giving us a bit of history.

You find the best stuff at Goodwill. I just shopped at one of our local stores and the prices sure have gone up. I bought 2 a-frame stands at 2.99 each, they used to be .99 each. Yikes.

Congratulations Dan! I hope that he inherited the drive to keep the farmhouse legacy alive. Many days I get on my soapbox and preach to the wind about primitives. I am not going to get started. We are on the same page. When I drive down the road each day and pass the farmhouses, I see generations of toil, blood, sweat, and tears. Calloused hands remind me of grandparents. A bottle of cornhusker’s lotion was their beauty treatment. I did question why the gooseberries were planted so close to the outhouse though. LOL.
